Determination played an important roll in the saftey and the survival of the group of climbers. When one of the members broke there leg and had to get down the mountain, he used determination to make it threw. Determination relates to my life because, i need to be determined in school. If i am not determined in school, then i do not do a good job and do not recieve a grade i am proud of. Determination also relates to me when i am skiing. I need determination so that i can have the commitment to stick to a trick while going off a 75 ft. kicker.

The group of climbers effected one another can make a big difference in life and death. the people that you are with everyday can effect how you are to. for example, on the moutain, if someone were to make a mistake and could drasticly effect everyone else climbing. this relates to me because many people i no and hang out with, effect actions i do, which can sometimes be good and sometimes bad.

Injury played a big factor in surviving 28,000 feet above sea level. when members of the group were injured it was difficult to come back down the mountain. but when a large snow storm comes in, they had to stay up on the mountain with severe injuries. This relates to my life when i was skiing and broke my collar bone for the third time. i had to withstain pain for 2 hours in the freezing cold as i recieved medical attention.

Trust was another big role in climbing everest. Trust was an important factory because no one could climb Everest alone. for example, when climbing everest, you are attatched to the person infront of you, and the person behind you. And you have to trust both of those people to stay on there feet, because if one of them falls, then everyone else falls. Trust relates to my life because i need to trust my friends if one of them needs help that I will be there for them, and if I need help they will be there for me.

One of the main subjects, as well as problem, was fear. Fear was a big part of the story, because climbing everest was no easy feat. When climbers would get close to the top, they would be faced with fear as they look down a 26,000 ft face. This relates to me because i have had to deal with fear before as well. When i broke my collar bone for the third time skiing doing a cork 7. I was faced with a lot of fear the next year when i tried it again.

The book I am reading is Called Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakauer. This book is about a group of climbers, climbing everest that incountered one of the worst disasters that has ever occured on the mountain. It starts off by the author explaining how commercialization has drastically effected the mountain, and exbidtions up the mountain. It cost $75,000 a climb per person without gear or food. Commercialization is not good for the mountain because over time it is starting to become polluted from all of the people attempting to climb the mountain.

Blog #11, Faster Climate Change Feared
According to a new report led by the U.S Geological Survey, the United States faces much more rapid climate change by the end of the century than previous studies have shown. They predict that Climate shifts will happen by 2100 if drastic measures are not taken into action imediately. One of the most worrisome findings is that massive ice sheets continue to brake off which will lead to the seas rising over 4 feet by 2100.
